Presentations and Workshops
PRESENTATION
Instead of Shooting Yourself in the Foot, Get it in the Door
During this humorous presentation (20 to 45 minutes) I tell writers how they can and must learn to:
o stand out from the competition.
o avoid the dreaded “amateur” label.
o make the mindshift from "selling" to "telling."
o write query letters that motivate agents, editors, or publishers to request a manuscript submission.
FEE-BASED WORKSHOPS
Intensive Workshops can be structured to meet your needs and time constraints. These cover writing the query, synopsis and first pages and/or any aspect of getting published.
CONFERENCE WORKSHOP/LECTURE TOPICS
o The #1 Secret of Successful Queries. Apply a "secret" technique in your query to increase the odds that it will result in a submission request.
o Pitch Perfect: Get the Yes! Terror-free, face-to-face pitching. Learn how to apply query-letter selling techniques as they verbally describe their project to an agent/editor/publisher.
o Gimme Chocolate: how to handle rejection: turn disappointment into powerful action to move you closer to becoming published.
NOTE: Any of the above can be modified to become conference workshops or breakout sessions.
EVENING OR AFTER-HOURS ACTIVITIES include on-the-spot query evaluations and/or pitching practice.
QUERY LETTER EVALUATION--FEE BASED
Writers submit query letters before the conference. These are evaluated and discussed in one-on-one consultations during the conference.
EARN AND LEARN WORKSHOPS
Does your writing organization want to/need to raise money to support your activities or to help your members become published authors?
You can accomplish both goals by hosting an "EARN AND LEARN" workshop customized to your needs.
o I'll work with you to create a full-or-half-day program to help your members learn exactly what they need to know so they can get published now!
o You pay an agreed-up flat fee. Your oganization charges over and above that fee and keeps the balance.
o What a great solution for any and all writer's associations (particularly non-profit).

COMMENTS FROM PREVIOUS WORKSHOPS . . .
Molli, can't begin to thank you for the fabulous Publishing Workshop you gave my students today. Your professionalism, combined with your marvelous sense of humor, kept the students talking even beyond the class this afternoon.

Before taking your one-day workshop, I honestly wondered what we'd do for all those hours. Could writing a query letter really take all day? Yes it did, and then some! Now I’ve gained the confidence to write a professional query letter, something I was afraid to try before.Sandra Mutolo, writer. St. Petersburg, Fl
What a workshop. My brain got whirled in the "Amazing Molli Blender" all day. Best of all, fresh ideas have surfaced every morning since. Thanks Molli Susan Burr, writer, Tampa, FL
Tonight's "Perfecting Your Pitch" was one of the most productive workshops FWA Tampa has ever hosted. We learned that we ain't near to pitching perfect yet, but we also learned how to get there. Really valuable stuff. Thanks Molli.
