Writers' Services
For a limited time, one‐on‐one telephone consultations are available.
Do you want/need/crave professional assistance with your query, synopsis, first pages, face‐to‐face pitching, or non‐fiction book proposal?
No problem. I can help you.

BY TELEPHONE
Phone consultation to evaluate your one‐page query, one page‐synopsis, or manuscript first page. Or, use this time to strengthen your one‐on‐one pitch for an agent or editor at an upcoming writers' conference.
Fee for one‐half hour, 30-minute phone consultation: $59
IN WRITING VIA EMAIL
Evaluation of your one‐page query or one‐page synopsis.
This involves my reading and writing comments within the body of your document. I identify areas of confusion, challenges with characterization, flow, issues with writing mechanics, and help you shift from "telling" your story to "selling" it.
FIRST DRAFT: You email me your first draft. I critique it, make written comments and email it back to you. You revise accordingly,
SECOND DRAFT: You email your second draft back to me. I critique it, make written comments and email it back to you.
A one‐hour (60 minutes) evaluation from me usually covers a first and second draft.
Fee for one‐hour, 60-minute written consultation: $99.

FIVE-PAGE EVALUATION AND POLISH
After your query and synopsis have passed the query and synopsis hurdles, your next challenge involves the first five pages of your manuscript. If the agent reading your work comes across mechanical writing problems or anything that simply doesn't work, that's it. No second chances, at least with that agent.
To help catch these killer issues before you submit your manuscript, I'll go over your first five pages, then write a detailed evaluation with focus on characterization, creative issues, plot, story flow, dialogue, and writing mechanics.
My in‐depth analysis will help you not only revise and polish your first five pages, it also will assist you in identifying the same issues (throughout your manuscript) you will want to revise before submitting it.
Fee for one‐hour, (60 minutes) of first‐five pages written evaluation $99.

SPECIAL OFFER
Most queries and synopses require from two‐to‐five drafts to fine tune them for submission to agents/editors.
(Number of drafts required to draft a non‐fiction book proposal varies depending on the length of the document. Quotation available upon request.)
Fee for two hours (120 minutes) of written evaluation $159—(you save $39).

If  you need a complete edit of your entire book, I'm available to help.

For further information or to customize an evaluation, including editing of part or all of your manuscript. . . whatever you need, contact me and we'll figure it out. Click here for email.

Testimonials

After Molli’s evaluation of my synopsis and help with my pitch, my book got its foot in the door  when an agent and a publisher asked for a manuscript submission during the FWA 2010 conference. Thanks Molli!
Bria Burton

Molli does a great job with the query. Her changes on mine made a difference in the number of requests I received. AND, I’m now represented by one of the agents who responded to the query she helped me revise.

Stumped on your query letter, synopsis, first page or book proposal?

Unsure what to do to get published?
Ask the expert! A wizard!
Someone with years in the field, who's smart, funny, friendly, and helps you work magic as you turn stuttering steps at getting published into confident strides.
I've observed Molli Nickell in action. She teaches writers how to hone selling points, focus the pitch and land an agent, vital first steps toward becoming published. Her humor and kindness will put you at ease while you gain new skills when you write your pitch (the query letter).
I’ve personally witnessed several successes—including my own—that came about after learning how to apply the techniques Molli teaches.
