Having spent 28 years in the publishing business as a Time-Life editor and publisher, I've reviewed hundreds of query letters and book proposals. I know what works and what doesn't! I've  taught marketing to writers at UCLA and through the Learning Annex in Southern California, written five published books and hundreds of magazine articles. I'm a former designer and writer for Better Homes and Gardens, syndicated columnist, motivational speaker and way former surfer chick.
